The igus Room Gantry RG-0004 is a three-degree-of-freedom Cartesian robot designed for large-format automation tasks requiring a 2000x2000x1000 mm working volume.

With 0.5 mm repeatability and a maximum payload of 10 kg, this 35.2 kg gantry system handles pick and place, packaging, lab automation, and assembly operations across industrial production lines, research facilities, and small-to-medium manufacturing environments.

The system operates via igus Robot Control or Dryve D1 controllers, offering connectivity through Modbus TCP/IP, CANopen, ROS, digital I/O, and LabVIEW.

A 3D graphical interface provides programming, path visualization, and system integration capabilities from a Windows 10 PC.

Control options include an optional handheld unit with touchscreen and joystick, or a gamepad connected to the PC.

Once programmed, the robot can run autonomously using the handheld without a connected computer.

The platform accommodates camera systems, grippers, and tooling for applications ranging from bin picking to vertical farming and adhesive dispensing.

Maximum speed is rated at 0.5 m/s.
