FIPA GR04.700-20 Pneumatic Needle Gripper, 0-2 mm stroke

FIPA GmbH

$1,195.00

Double-acting pneumatic needle gripper for automated handling of textiles, felts, foams, and other air-permeable flat materials. Features 32 needles at 0.7 mm diameter with 0-2 mm adjustable stroke, separate air connections for extend and retract plus a blow-off port for rapid release, and operation up to 70°C.

Pneumatic needle gripper FIPA GR04.700-20 is a double acting robot end effector for precise handling of flexible, air permeable materials in automated pick and place, with rapid release and adjustable stroke.

  • 32 needles, 0.7 mm diameter each
  • Stroke 0 to 2 mm (0 to 0.079 in)
  • Weight 0.114 kg (0.251 lb)
  • Ambient temperature up to 70°C

Features:

  • Double acting needle gripper: Separate compressed air connections for extraction and retraction support short cycle times in high speed pick and place.
  • Blow off gripper function: An additional air inlet provides fast blow off for rapid release of air permeable materials.
  • Adjustable stroke: A knurled screw sets the 0 to 2 mm stroke to match material thickness.
  • Gentle material engagement: 0.7 mm needles and a flat entry angle minimize penetration depth and stabilize thin parts.
  • Lightweight build: 0.114 kg reduces load on axes and suits compact industrial automation cells.
  • Controls friendly: Pneumatic interface integrates with standard automation controls for coordinated needle movement.
  • Serviceability: Compatible mounting brackets and spare needle plates are available for long term maintenance.

Applications:

  • Textile handling gripper tasks, including woven, nonwoven, and felt materials
  • Foams, felts, and air permeable sheets and laminates
  • Pick and place gripper duties in automated manufacturing
  • Air permeable materials gripper use where vacuum is ineffective

Technical Specifications:

  • Model: FIPA GR04.700-20 pneumatic needle gripper
  • Operation: Double acting with separate extend and retract air ports, plus a dedicated blow off air inlet
  • Needles: 32 pieces, 0.7 mm diameter
  • Stroke: 0 to 2 mm per jaw (0 to 0.079 in), adjustable via knurled screw
  • Weight: 0.114 kg (0.251 lb)
  • Temperature: Operates in ambient temperatures up to 70°C

  • Precise textile and flat-material handling, double-acting needle gripper with fast blow-off
  • Set exact stroke, 0–2 mm, 32 needles, 0.7 mm diameter
  • Maintain flexibility long-term, compatible mounting brackets and spare needle plates
  • Speeds pick-and-place, textiles, felts, foams, air-permeable or flexible flat materials
The FIPA GR04.700-20 grips textiles, felts, foams, and other air-permeable or flexible flat materials. It uses 32 needles of 0.7 mm diameter with a flat entry angle to minimize penetration depth on thin parts.
The GR04.700-20 provides fast part release via an additional air inlet for blow-off, supporting short cycle times in high-speed pick-and-place.
The stroke is adjustable from 0 to 2 mm using a knurled screw. This lets you set exact needle penetration for different material thicknesses.
The pneumatic interface integrates with standard automation controls for coordinated needle movement. The gripper is double-acting with separate air connections for needle extraction and retraction, and an additional inlet for blow-off.
Compatible mounting brackets and spare needle plates are available to support long-term maintenance and system flexibility.
The gripper operates in ambient temperatures up to 70°C and weighs 0.114 kg.

Pneumatic needle gripper vs vacuum gripper:

Choose this FIPA GR04.700-20 needle gripper when handling flexible, air-permeable flat materials where vacuum cups are unreliable.

  • When vacuum struggles on textiles, felts or foams, the 32 needles with 0.7 mm diameter secure air permeable sheets with gentle entry.
  • When parts must release quickly in high-speed pick-and-place, double-acting motion and a dedicated blow-off air inlet cut release time.
  • When material thickness varies, the adjustable 0 to 2 mm stroke sets precise penetration for stable handling.
  • When payload is tight in compact cells, the 0.114 kg lightweight build reduces load on robot axes.
  • When ambient temperatures reach up to 70°C, the gripper maintains operation for automated pick-and-place lines.
  • When long-term flexibility is needed, compatible mounting brackets and spare needle plates support serviceability.
