Electric parallel gripper with programmable force and position control for precision handling of small parts. Features 6 mm stroke per jaw, 4 N maximum gripping force, 0.02 mm repeatability, and compact mounting in five orientations. Supports Modbus RTU and digital I/O communication with optional protocols including Ethernet and EtherCAT.

Effecto Group EIG2 Electric Parallel Gripper, 4 sizes:

Effecto Group EIG2 Electric Parallel Gripper is an electric gripper designed for precise handling of lightweight to medium workpieces in automated robotic applications including electronics assembly, medical device handling, and small component manipulation.

  • Stroke per jaw from 6 mm to 40 mm
  • Gripping force per jaw from 2 N to 140 N depending on size
  • Weight ranges from 0.15 kg to 1.00 kg
  • Positioning repeatability as precise as 0.02 mm

The EIG2 series features electric parallel gripping action using two symmetric fingers and is part of the Effecto Group end effectors portfolio. Adaptive force and position control allow flexible gripping without tool changes. Choose from sizes including EIG2-06002 for up to 0.05 kg payload, or larger sizes like EIG2-40140 for up to 280 N total gripping force.

Integration and Compatibility:

  • Communication interfaces include Modbus RTU and digital I/O
  • Expandable to USB, Ethernet, CAN, PROFINET, EtherCAT via protocol converters
  • Five mounting orientations accommodate space-constrained configurations
  • Operates in environments up to 40°C

The EIG2 electric parallel gripper is suitable for End Effectors & Tooling applications, and is available in four distinct sizes with different stroke and force capabilities for optimal matching to picking, palletising, and precision assembly tasks.

A parallel gripper uses two symmetric fingers that move in opposite directions to grasp objects from opposite sides. The Effecto Group EIG2 Electric Parallel Gripper features this design with stroke ranges from 6 mm to 40 mm per jaw and gripping forces from 2 N to 140 N depending on size.
An electric gripper is a motorized end effector that grips and releases objects using electrical power rather than compressed air. The EIG2 provides programmable force and position control with 0.02 mm positioning repeatability and opens or closes in 0.2 to 0.7 seconds with adjustable speed.
A gripper is an end effector that picks up, holds, and releases workpieces in automated robotic systems. The EIG2 is designed for precise handling in electronics assembly, medical device handling, and small component manipulation across four sizes to match different payload and stroke requirements.
The EIG2-40140 uses Modbus RTU and digital I/O as standard communication interfaces, with expansion to USB, Ethernet, CAN, PROFINET, or EtherCAT available through protocol converters. It can be mounted in five different orientations to fit space-constrained robotic cells.
The EIG2 comes in four sizes: EIG2-06002 with up to 0.05 kg payload, EIG2-07008, EIG2-13050, and EIG2-40140 with up to 280 N total gripping force. Stroke ranges from 6 mm to 40 mm per jaw and weight ranges from 0.15 kg to 1.00 kg depending on model.
The EIG2 operates in environments up to 40 degrees Celsius. It runs quietly at 40 dB(A) and weighs between 0.15 kg and 1.00 kg depending on the size selected.

Electric gripper versus pneumatic gripper:

The EIG2 is an electric parallel gripper, chosen over pneumatic alternatives when precision, quiet operation, and independent force control matter more than raw speed. Pneumatic grippers are cheaper and faster but lack the fine repeatability and adaptive grip strength that electric actuation delivers.

  • For precision assembly of electronics or medical devices, the 0.02 mm repeatability eliminates part variation that pneumatic systems cannot match.
  • For shared robotic cells where noise is a concern, 40 dB(A) operation runs continuously without air compressor disruption.
  • For delicate or varied small parts on one line, programmable grip force from 2 N to 140 N per jaw lets you avoid tool changes and damage from over-clamping.
  • For space-constrained wrists, five mounting orientations and weights from 0.15 kg fit where heavier pneumatic cylinders cannot.
  • For cycle times of 0.2 to 0.7 seconds, the EIG2 matches or beats pneumatic speed while holding position without drift.
