The igus robolink DP 7th axis is a drylin ZLW-20 toothed belt linear system designed to expand the operational range of robolink DP robots through linear travel.
This wide, flat profile axis accepts a maximum radial load of 500 N and axial load of 250 N, positioning the robot along a linear path to extend effective workspace without requiring a larger robot model.
The unit comes with an adapter kit that mounts directly to the robolink DP robot via the linear slide connection on the ZLW-20 modular axis.
The kit includes preparation for compatible E-ChainSystems cable management.
Drive is provided by a NEMA23XL stepper motor coupled with a 5:1 gearbox.
This configuration ships with a 1500 mm stroke as standard, with strokes up to 3000 mm available and extended travel up to 6000 mm possible on request.
The axis integrates with igus robot control software through the 7th axis function, though inverse kinematics are not integrated and must be managed through external software control.
Typical applications include extending robot reach in material handling, assembly, or inspection tasks where linear repositioning increases flexibility without full gantry systems.
