This igus seventh axis system extends the operational range of EPSON Scara robots by adding a linear motion axis beneath the robot mount.
The unit provides stroke lengths up to 3000 mm, enabling workspace expansion up to four times the original robot envelope, and operates at speeds up to 0.3 m/s with repeatability of ±0.3 mm.
This model is supplied with a length of 2500 mm and does not include a controller or energy chain.
The system is compatible with EPSON T3, T6, and VT6 Scara robot models.
Kinematics are controllable through EPSON software, with control handled via software without integrated inverse kinematics.
Custom stroke lengths beyond 3000 mm are available upon request.
Manufacturers and integrators typically deploy seventh axis systems in applications requiring extended reach for loading, assembly, or palletizing tasks where a single robot must service multiple stations or an elongated work area.
This configuration reduces the need for multiple robots or complex gantry setups in linear production layouts.
