A linear motion axis designed specifically for EPSON Scara robots, extending work envelope up to four times with stroke lengths reaching 3,000 mm and repeatability of ±0.3 mm.
This 7th axis system extends the working range of EPSON Scara robots along a linear track, multiplying workspace capacity up to four times.
Manufactured by igus, the system delivers stroke lengths up to 3,000 mm with repeatability of ±0.3 mm and operating speeds up to 0.3 m/s.
Custom stroke lengths are available upon request.
The axis integrates with EPSON robot kinematics software for coordinated motion control.
Software-based control is required, as inverse kinematics are not integrated into the axis hardware itself.
This configuration is compatible with EPSON T3, T6, and VT6 Scara robot models.
The 3,000 mm length unit (part number ZLW-20200S-7TH-EPSON-01-3000) ships with a controller but does not include energy chain components.
Selection should account for the need to source e-chain separately based on cable management requirements for the specific installation.
