  • Handles 5 kg payload at 3 m/s speed, 60 m/s² acceleration for rapid pick and place
  • Dryve D1 controller supports Modbus TCP, CANopen, digital and analog I/O
  • Plug-and-play integration, no software installation required
  • Optional initiator kits and calibration pins accelerate commissioning
  • Ideal for pick and place, sorting, packaging, and lab automation tasks
  • 360 mm reach with 0.5 mm repeatability for precise, consistent positioning
  • 3-degree-of-freedom parallel arm design enables rapid repeatable movement
A delta robot is a parallel arm robot with a 3-degree-of-freedom design that enables rapid, repeatable movement in a circular work area. The igus DLE-DR-0002 uses this design to handle pick and place tasks with high speed and precision, reaching up to 3 m/s with 0.5 mm repeatability across a 360 mm diameter workspace.
The DLE-DR-0002 handles a 5 kg payload at speeds up to 3 m/s with 60 m/s2 acceleration for rapid pick and place operations. This payload capacity is higher than typical entry-level delta robots.
Pick and place is an automated task where a robot quickly grabs an object from one location and places it in another, often used in manufacturing, packaging, and sorting. The DLE-DR-0002 is specifically optimized for pick and place work with its high speed and 0.5 mm precision.
The DLE-DR-0002 requires no additional software installation and offers plug-and-play integration with the Dryve D1 controller. Optional initiator kits and calibration pins are available to further accelerate commissioning.
The DLE-DR-0002 mounts to the Dryve D1 controller, which supports Modbus TCP, CANopen, digital and analog I/O for quick setup and integration into existing systems.
The DLE-DR-0002 is ideal for pick and place, sorting, packaging, laboratory automation, and sample handling tasks in production, laboratory, and automation environments. It can also perform bin picking when equipped with grippers or suction cups and vision systems.

Delta robots versus larger industrial arms for rapid placement:

The igus DLE-DR-0002 is a compact delta robot built for speed and precision in tight spaces, not a full-scale multi-axis articulated arm. Choose it when you need fast, repeatable motion within a contained work envelope rather than broad reach or complex trajectory paths.

  • For high-speed pick and place with parts under 5 kg in confined cells, the 3 m/s speed and 60 m/s² acceleration handle hundreds of cycles per hour without sacrificing the 0.5 mm repeatability required for precise positioning.
  • In lab automation or packaging lines where parts move through a compact 360 mm diameter zone, the delta design eliminates the footprint and cost of larger 6-axis robots.
  • When you need same-day deployment with no programming overhead, plug-and-play setup via the Dryve D1 controller and standard Modbus TCP or CANopen eliminates software installation and commissioning delays.
  • For sorting, sample handling, or bin picking tasks paired with simple grippers or vision systems, the lightweight 15 kg frame and low-maintenance construction reduce downtime in research or production environments.
